Ahoy Software, Iinc. was founded by a team of experience entrepreneurs with extensive backgrounds in the mobile and social media spaces. Our CEO, Rene Vishney, founded Award Software; the company’s BIOS is used in billions of machines worldwide.

We have 3 major areas of concentration:
• Small, mobile applications for smart phones. We sell apps through the App Store, with more continuously being submitted.
• Larger, proprietary joint ventures with other companies for mobile and related applications; and...

Mr. Rene Vishney is the entrepreneur and founder of successful software companies in enterprise-wide manufacturing systems, enterprise resource management, B2B and B2C sites, and finance and insurance. Industries: retail, security, semiconductors, automobile, data compression and physical security. Senior sales and marketing executive with 25 years of experience includes the creation of sales and marketing organizations with an emphasis on effective management and leadership, hiring and training, strategic planning, and policy and procedure development.

As the founder, chairman and CEO of the globally recognized software company, AWARD Software Inc., Mr. Vishney was instrumental in developing the leading edge BIOS software in the PC industry, which runs on over 1 Billion personal computers today.

As a senior VP of Sales and Marketing for two prominent Internet companies, Mr. Vishney brought both companies from start up to market within one year preceding the dot.com era. Their pioneering products included a search engine of catalogs and a graphical e-mail capability. He has built marketing and sales teams from the ground up to encompass all marketing and sales functions.

As a CIO, Mr. Vishney trained staff, set up IT departments, developed and directed the implementation of global enterprise-wide IT systems covering a variety of functions including but not limited to Manufacturing, Finance, Sales, and Distribution.

Mr. Rene Vishney provides a strong leadership style with the ability to motivate, mentor, and support others in achieving the goals of companies and clients. He has built and maintained strong global alliances in North America, Europe, and Asia with a strong appreciation for diverse cultures. As a skilled negotiator, Mr. Vishney has closed $20M contracts during his career.

Mr. Vishney holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Management from Ohio State University and an Associate degree in Electrical Engineering from New York State University. Mr. Vishney speaks some French and is fluent in German.


CTO: Andrew Armstrong
Serving as Chief Technology Officer, Mr. Andrew Armstrong is a senior software developer and IT professional with over twenty-five years in high-technology with Charles Schwab,Cambridge Core Brokerage Services, After Dark, Berkley Systems. As a Senior Software Developer and IT Professional, he has broad platform experience from Windows and Macintosh desktops through n-tier distributed systems based on Windows Server and Linux. Mr. Armstrong also has extensive knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), having worked with Agile, RUP, and other processes. He is experienced in migrating processes and data from mainframe to Windows Server platform including interacting with batch processes.

COO: Mary Beth Deans
MB Deans is Chief Operating Officer and social media strategist for Ahoy Software, Inc., a firm that brings practical solutions to mobile platforms and helps clients extend their brands into new markets.

Prior to joining Ahoy Software, she founded Douglas Partners and built it into a boutique career transition that helped clients leverage social media to develop their personal brands. She co-found Sedaa Global Business Trust (GBT), a global network of OD practitioners. Based on proprietary technology. GBT has members in 22 countries on 5 continents who are using GBT to collaborate, learn and share business opportunities.

Prior to Douglas Partners, MB was recruited to establish the Educational Services department for Cygent, Inc., a telecom software provider. There she led creation of workshops, classes and seminars to educate employees, partners and clients, designed and implemented a certification program for vendors and partners, and collaborated with HR to create programs to attract and retain top talent.

As co-founder of Axiom Management Consulting, MB helped build the business to nearly 200 consultants worldwide. After being acquired by Cambridge Technology Partners, a global systems integrator, MB remained with the newly merged company to lead critical projects and help grow the business 5-fold.

She is a member of Women in Consulting and is on a member of the Board of Directors of Girls Lead Now. She earned a MS Degree in Computer Science from Fairleigh Dickinson University and a BS Degree in Biochemistry from Rutgers College.


Director of Product Management: Robert Downing
Serving as Director of Product Management is Mr. Robert Downing, an experienced Marketing and Technical professional with over twenty-five years experience in high-technology.  Having received his start in the industry from the International Business Machines Corporation, Mr. Downing went on to work with such leading-edge companies as 3Com, Cisco and Blade Network Technologies. While at Blade Network Technologies, he defined and brought to market key software products. He has an extensive background in network hardware and software, has authored several technical white papers and articles for Industry media, and applied his experience in multiple Entrepreneurial roles. Mr. Downing earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Administration from Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville, IL.
